Only one orientation

Why does this thing have only the vertical orientation? I use my iPad horizontally like a computer, so this thing doesnt work at all although it looks pretty good. Im so frustrated with the single-mindedness of its design!!!!!!!
Although I have to say this thing is better than the google calendar app. I cant believe that one was made by google.
